WALKER COUNTY If you happen to see smoke on the horizon in the East, the U.S. Forest Service is overseeing a prescribed burn.

The forest service says the area they are burning is mostly in Walker County. There is a small section in Montgomery County. Officials say that the burn is along Forest Service Roads 215, 208 and 216, making a triangle shape near the Stubblefield area.

Officials say they are burning 679 acres.
