Prosecutors: Manning Abused his Country's Trust

FORT MEADE, Md. (AP) - Prosecutors in the court-martial of Pfc. Bradley Manning have finished their closing arguments by calling the former intelligence analyst a traitor.

Maj. Ashden Fein said Thursday that Manning had only one mission when he was in Iraq and that was to find and reveal secrets to WikiLeaks, which he called a group of anarchists.

Fein said Manning betrayed his country's trust and spilled classified information to the anti-secrecy website, knowing the material would be seen by al-Qaida.

Manning's defense attorney will give his closing arguments Friday.

Manning is charged with 21 offenses, but the most serious is aiding the enemy, which carries a possible sentence of up to life in prison.
