Rain Didn't Keep Tailgaters Away on Game Day

Updated: Sat 7:17 PM, Sep 29, 2012

For some people in College Station, it doesn't matter if it’s a sunny or rainy day. All that matters is that its game day.

“You know, it’s one of those days, normally I worry about the hair,” said Dennie Bowman. “We're here for the team. We’re not looking at me or each other. We're here to watch them.”

Thousands of fans showed up to support their team

“We bought lots of ponchos...we have our canopy up...we're ready to go!” said Nancy Wadlington

But the rain did force some tailgaters to modify their plans

“We normally feed 150 plus people and we have our own grill and everything,” said Allen Alves. “Not today because of the weather, its killing us.”

Others didn't let a little rain get in the way of a good tailgate.

“We have electronics up. We have our grill up. We just had to try a little harder to get the fire going,” said Jake Nolan.

Everyone tailgating by Kyle Field did have one thing in common.

“We're going to have a good time no matter what,” said Alvers.
