Rain Probable Factor in Fatal Crash Near Navasota

Investigators believe heavy rain was a factor in a 2-vehicle crash west of Navasota Friday afternoon that killed one person and injured 4 others.

It happened on 105 near Washington Bridge Road.

First responders were dispatched from Navasota and Brenham.

A state trooper says a Ford pickup hydroplaned on the slick highway into the path of an oncoming Buick SUV.

DPS says the woman killed has been identified as Ellen O. Perry.

Highway 105 was shut down for more than an hour after that crash.
