Texas Gets Rain and Cooler Temperatures for Soggy End to Summer

DALLAS (AP) Parts of Texas have been getting soaked as rain and cooler temperatures reach the state in a soggy end to summer.

Oncor reported about 100 customers without electricity Friday evening, down from more than 26,000 left in the dark overnight as storms reached North Texas.

Persistent rain in East, Central and Southeast Texas prompted some high school football games to be canceled.

Arlington firefighters used a ladder truck to rescue several motorists whose vehicles stopped in high water. Waco police reported flooded roads and some stalled vehicles. Odessa also had street flooding.

Autumn begins Sunday.
