COLLEGE STATION - After nearly two hours of discussion Thursday night, College Station's city council chose to take two-weeks more to look at an proposal that would amend the rental registration rules in the city.
The proposal presented by city staff would add a citation to the possible punishments for code violations, require an affidavit as part of the registration process, and require providing the city a copy of the current lease.
There would also be an enforcement of a maximum of four unrelated residents.
A&M students spoke out against that, and property owners at the meeting were concerned about legal issues with providing their contracts, among other things.
City staff will have two weeks to examine and revise their recommendation before the next meeting.
