IRVING, Texas (AP) Retail gasoline prices across Texas have dropped by an average of 2 cents this week to $3.07 per gallon.
Triple A Texas on Thursday reported the statewide figure for regular unleaded is 30 cents less than this time a year ago.
AAA says the national average remains at $3.27 per gallon.
Of the metropolitan areas surveyed in Texas, drivers in Amarillo continue to pay the least at $2.98. Motorists in El Paso are paying the most on average, at $3.13 per gallon.
Cold temperatures across much of the country have led to weak demand and kept prices flat to begin 2014. AAA analysts expect the national average to move higher in the coming months as temperatures warm, people travel more and the demand for fuel increases.
