TEXAS A&M - Texas A&M officials say a ribbon cutting ceremony will mark the opening of a new Wellborn Road passageway which creates a new route below Wellborn near the Albritton Bell Tower Friday, beginning at 9 a.m.
The new project will allow for traffic from cars, pedestrians and bikers, to pass under the existing stretch of Wellborn Road and rail line. University Officials say the $34 million project was supported by a $23.8 million federal grant. A&M System Chancellor John Sharp and Texas A&M University President R. Bowen Loftin are scheduled to be on hand to make a few public comments.
