Roaches Among Reasons Bryan Restaurant Shut Down

BRYAN - For the second time in a week, the Brazos County Health Department had to shut down an area restaurant, but has since reopened it.

Coco Loco in the 1600 block of Texas Avenue in Bryan scored a 65 in its inspection this past Monday, forcing the suspension of the restaurant's permit.

Among the violations noted by inspectors: live roaches were found in the kitchen area, a number of food items were stored at improper temperatures, and shelving needed to be repaired or replaced.

Coco Loco was re-inspected Tuesday and allowed to reopen after paying a $500 fee.

Last week, Shun de Mom Express at the BCS Asian Market had to be closed due to a sewage backup.
