A man is in critical condition Friday evening after emergency officials say he crashed his pickup into a tree, split his truck in two, and was trapped upside down in a creek for several hours.
That wreck happened along FM 2000 in Burleson County near Caldwell. The crash shut down both lanes of traffic. DPS Troopers say the man was southbound on FM 2000 when he lost control of the truck, over-corrected, and slammed into a tree. The truck then landed upside down in a creek bed approximately 15 feet down. First responders on scene say the man was trapped for at least two hours.
Troopers say the man is in critical condition and was taken by helicopter to St. Joseph's Hospital in Bryan.
