SOMERVILLE – Officials are monitoring a possible hazmat situation in Burleson County.

A truck spilled a slippery substance on Highway 36 at FM 1361 in downtown Somerville Wednesday afternoon.

It could be something related to oil and gas drilling in this area, although it hasn't been identified yet.

Highway 36 at F-M 1361 remains closed at this time.

Police believe the mystery mess came off the back of a truck that didn't stop.
