Sam Houston Statue Visitor Center Anticipates First 7,000 Visitor Mark

The Sam Houston Statue Visitor Center anticipates reaching its first 7,000-visitor mark this week, an important facet of the facility’s ongoing Millionth Visitor Campaign.

The promotion, building up to the one-millionth person to sign the guest book at the statue visitor center, will mark every 7,000-visitor increment leading up to the milestone with a free iPad giveaway.

According to Kimm Thomas, the already busy travel time is even more exciting this year with the millionth visitor’s arrival just a few months away.

“Spring Break is a very busy time for the Sam Houston Statue Visitor Center, and with the campaign going on, we are hoping to drive additional out-of-town visitors into our city,” she said. “When we reach an additional 7,000 visitors from the official number we had on February 15, the lucky guest who completes that set will receive a free iPad.

“We’re very excited about reaching this point in the Millionth Person Campaign, and we look forward to watching our number of guests grow closer and closer to one million.”

Thomas said the campaign would provide another method of showcasing the unique features of Huntsville to potential guests.

“We want the entire community to bring all of their out-of-town guests out to register for the grand prize and to help us promote our city as a tourist destination,” she said. “We want more and more people to see our great museums, historic downtown, cultural district and, of course, great outdoor venues such as the State Park.”
