Scott & White Ambulance Driver Spots Alleged Drunk Driver

BRYAN A Scott & White ambulance driver with a quick eye noticed an alleged drunk driver Tuesday night.

40-year-old Jerel Jessie was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, with three or more charges.

According to the arrest report, the driver of a Scott & White ambulance told 9-1-1 dispatchers he was following an 18-wheeler hauling crates that was swerving onto the shoulder and speeding. Bryan Police Officers found Jessie and his truck at a gas station on Highway 21.

In the arrest report, Jessie told the officer he drank one mixed beer earlier in the day at his uncle's house. The officer reportedly smelled alcohol on Jessie's breath.

He also told the officer that he took medication that day, then said he didn't take them because he was drinking alcohol.

Jessie was taken to St. Joseph's hospital where he vomited in the hospital room. He was arrested and taken to the Brazos County Jail with no bond.
