Garry Gore, MD named as head of emergency department

BRENHAM & COLLEGE STATION, Texas—(February 12, 2013) Scott & White Healthcare has appointed Garry Gore, MD as the new director to lead the system’s College Station Region Department of Emergency Medicine. This region includes the Scott & White Hospital – Brenham and the future Scott & White Hospital – College Station, scheduled to open in August 2013. After the opening of the College Station Hospital, Dr. Gore will appoint a local Chief of Emergency Medicine for the Brenham Hospital to work closely alongside him in the region.

Most recently, Gore served as the ER director for The College Station Medical Center. He received his Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University and his medical degree from Texas A&M Health Science Center - College of Medicine. “Dr. Gore’s excellent credentials along with his personal integrity will serve our Scott & White region well,” said William L. Rayburn, chief medical officer of the Scott & White-College Station region.

Gore is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. With over 20 years of experience in emergency medicine, Dr. Gore is a valued addition to the Scott & White team.

“I look forward to working with Dr. Gore as we continue to strive toward our goal of providing the highest quality care to the citizens of Brazos and Washington County and all of the Brazos Valley,” said Jason Jennings, chief executive officer of the Scott & White-College Station region.
