WASHINGTON COUNTY - Trees in local counties are being decorated with blue ribbons as a reminder of the impact of child abuse.

Representatives of Scotty's House - a child advocacy center - are going county by county to post blue ribbons to trees representing the number of children touched by abuse. Thursday 69 victims from Washington County in 2013 were remembered. It's all part of an effort to raise awareness for those impacted by abuse. And the organization says a similar event for Brazos County will be held Friday morning April 4th at 10 at the College Station Police Department.
