Two robbery suspects are on the loose after police say they held up a Papa John's Pizza business Sunday afternoon.

News 3 was on scene Sunday and learned one of the suspects was armed.

No one was injured in the robbery when police say one of the suspects pulled out a gun after entering the Papa John's on North Texas Avenue and Highway 21 in Bryan and ran away with cash.

A busy shopping strip unexpectedly became a crime scene Sunday afternoon.

Bryan resident Antwanette Williams was finishing up errands at H-E-B unaware an armed robbery had occurred at the Papa John's Pizza place just a little while before.

"Yeah, it's wide open space they had to really want that money!," she said.

Bryan Police say the two men entered the business a little before 5 Sunday afternoon in the 1600 block of North Texas Avenue and fled on foot towards East Highway 21 with money in hand.

Antwanette's husband Don Williams noticed the police sweeping the area when he pulled up.

"He was walking pretty fast so my wife made a comment she was like must have been somebody stealing. I was like maybe so. Went in the store got out shopping and came out. Then the word was somebody actually stole from Papa Johns," said Don Williams.

Williams says despite the incident he feels safe here.

"And that's kind of strange 'cause really it's not really like that around here," he added.

The first suspect is described as a black man 5 foot 8 tall with medium build.

He was wearing a baseball cap, black shirt, basketball shorts and had multiple tattoos on both arms.

The second is a black man, around 5'11 with thin build. He was wearing a baseball cap, a dark shirt and black basketball shorts.

"If they catch them, they catch them. All I can say is God have mercy on them," said Don Williams.

Employees at Papa John's told us they had no comment about the robbery when News 3 arrived.

If you have any information on the suspects' whereabouts you are asked to call Bryan Police at (979) 209-5300.

Police aren't releasing how much money was taken.
