GALVESTON, Texas (AP) The Coast Guard has launched a search for a fisherman whose pleasure boat was found going in circles near Galveston with his dog still on board.
Lt. Matthew Walter said Thursday that helicopters and boats are part of the effort to locate the 50-year-old man.
Walter says the man and his yellow Labrador were in the 17-foot shallow-water boat and left the marina after lunch Wednesday. Walter declined to release the name of the fisherman whose vessel was discovered several hours later by another boater in West Bay.
Walter says the man's wallet, cellphone and a life preserver were in the boat.
The Coast Guard says there's no indication of foul play.
