Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel will be going to New York City as a finalist for the Heisman Trophy. Several fans made sure they watched the announcement on ESPN.
"It's just crazy to get a freshman to come out and break so many records and do so many amazing things. There are few people who have done what he has done before, but never as a freshman,” said Ramzi Ghariani who works at REVs, a restaurant in the Memorial Student Center on campus.
The Aggie made sure he caught a glimpse of the big announcement. Some in the Northgate District made sure they were eating their meal in front of a TV.
"He's got it…I came out here and started watching, and he got the bid to go earn his trophy in New York,” said Cameron Cardwell.
It's not just Aggies that think Johnny Football deserves to win. Even one Longhorn fan visiting Aggieland, thinks Manziel should get the trophy.
"He's led A&M. I am not even an A&M fan, but we have been watching him lead A&M in the SEC conference. I'm from Austin,” said Greg Maphet, a University of Texas fan.
Fans will have to wait until Saturday December 8th, when the winner will be announced in New York.
If Manziel wins, he would be the first freshman to win the Heisman and the second Aggie.
