Robertson County Crash on Highway 6 Sends 4 to Hospital

ROBERTSON COUNTY Thursday Update:

Officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety tell News 3 the wreck on Highway 6 near Campbell’s Creek occurred after 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Officials say the driver of a sedan was heading northbound and tried to avoid what she thought was a cone in the road. She overcorrected and went into oncoming traffic and was struck by a jeep.

The driver of the sedan is listed in good condition and the driver of the jeep is in fair condition at St. Joseph hospital in Bryan. Two children were riding in the sedan at the time of the crash and were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The wreck is still under investigation.

Sheriff Gerald Yezak says a major crash near Campbell's Creek and Highway 6, between Bryan and Hearne shut down all Northbound traffic, starting just past OSR.

He tells us multiple vehicles were involved. Four people were taken to the hospital - two are said to be in critical condition.

Officials were not releasing many details about the accident Thursday morning.
