The sixth suspect has been arrested for his involvement in a pre-meditated drug-related aggravated robbery in College Station. Twenty-seven-year-old Jeremiah Maxey turned himself in to the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday night.

On October 13TH, authorities say 26-year-old Michael James Perry of Houston, 30-year-old Johnarl Lester Gordon of Houston and 29-year-old Ricky Lawrence Jingles of Hempstead were arrested in Grimes County after being accused of kidnapping Nicholas Ashford Johnson , a College Station music promoter, and threatening to kill him.

Officers responded around 1:13 a.m. to a call of a possible kidnapping in the area of Longmire and Deacon. It was reported that Johnson was taken against his will from the area of Holleman West and FM 2818.

Police were able to track Johnson’s cell phone to Navasota. Johnson was not injured in the early Saturday morning incident that began in an apartment complex off Harvey Mitchell Parkway. Jingles, Perry and Gordon were arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping with a deadly weapon.

Once the suspects and victim were located, officers from the College Station Police Department continued the investigation into the offense. Further investigation revealed the kidnapping was a result of a pre-meditated drug deal and robbery.

Investigators said Jeremiah Maxey was part of a scheme with Nicholas Ashford Johnson and his half-sister, Candise Claireshon Brooks, to steal money and drugs from a man in College Station on October 13th. The two reportedly conspired with Maxey to dupe not only the drug dealer of his drugs, but additionally, 29-year-old Ricky Lawrence Jingles of Hempstead, 26-year-old Michael James Perry of Houston and 30-year-old Johnral Lester Gordon, also of Houston who would drive in from Houston to cash-in on the drug deal. Jingles, Perry and Gordon were allegedly unaware of the plot between Maxey and the two other suspects.

Police say Gordon admitted in a statement that Johnson called him two weeks before the alleged drug deal would took place. He allegedly asked Gordon to rob someone, and he would consequently receive money for it. Gordon, Jingles and Perry would drive to College Station to do initiate the robbery, but investigators believe Maxey and Brooks, who weren’t initially included in their plan, ended up robbing the dealer of marijuana after brandishing a gun. Gordon, Jingles and Perry are believed to have kidnapped Johnson when they thought he was trying to keep them from getting their proceeds from the robbery.

Meanwhile Johnson and Brooks were arrested for aggravated robbery five days after the crime occurred.

Jeremiah Maxey was booked into the Brazos County Jail on $130,000 bond and charged with Aggravated Assault and Aggravated Kidnapping. He bonded out early Wednesday morning.
