BROOKSHIRE, Texas (AP) - A pilot has been seriously hurt when his single-engine experimental plane crashed nose-first into a hangar at a private airport in the Houston area.
The Waller County Sheriff's Office says the accident happened late Monday morning. The hangar is at Sport Flyers Airport near Brookshire, about 25 miles west of Houston.
Authorities say the pilot, who apparently was alone on the plane, was transported to a hospital in Houston. A spokeswoman for the Memorial Hermann Texas Trauma Institute says the man was listed in serious condition. Kathryn Klein had no additional details.
The Federal Aviation Administration says the crash involved a single-engine Aero Max light airplane assembled from a kit. FAA records list it as registered to an Indiana man.
