TxDOT has re-opened all traffic on SH 30, just west of Roans Prairie after it was originally closed because of a grass fire. Traffic was metered one way at a time Tuesday afternoon by emergency workers.
The National Forest Service was on site with a dozer to help fight the fire.
Fire crews were able to get the fire knocked down and prevented it from spreading to a nearby home -- but they say gusty conditions didn't help.
Firefighters say the smoke was at one point so heavy that visibility along the road was severely reduced.
