An early morning head-on collision in Burleson County left an Austin woman dead and sent a Somerville man to the hospital.
DPS officials say 41-year old Samantha Renee Tittle, of Austin, was headed west bound on FM-60 when her 2002 Saturn drifted into the east bound lane.
The Saturn collided head-on with a 1993 Mercury 4-door, driven by 21-year old Edward Deion Pool of Somerville.
Investigators say both drivers were transported to St. Joseph's Hospital in Bryan.
Tittle later died at St. Joseph. Pool sustained head injuries in the crash but is listed in good condition.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
