Somerville Man Arrested for Burleson County Deputy's Death

BURLESON COUNTY A Somerville man is under arrest and facing capital murder charges for the death of a Burleson County sheriff's deputy.

28-year-old Henry Goedrich Magee was arrested and charged in connection to the death of Seargent Investigator Adam Sowders Thursday morning. He was booked into the Burleson County jail Thursday afternoon and transferred to Brenham.

He's being held on a $1 million bond.

The Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Texas Rangers, are continuing their investigation of this incident.

The 31-year-old Sowders joined the Burleson County Sheriff's Office in 2006 and was recently promoted to a Deputy Sergeant Investigator.

Sowders was killed when he and seven other deputies were trying to serve a search warrant early Thursday morning at a mobile home off County Road 278.
