St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Bryan has a new cross on its roof - and it coincides with a big milestone for a local clergyman.

Monsignor John Malinowski, who has been an integral leader at St. Anthony's for years, is celebrating five decades since he was first ordained in the diocese of Austin. Saturday morning the church will applaud his efforts. The church will also debut its new cross, which is made from Italian marble.

A Celebrated Mass of Thanksgiving will begin at 11 a.m. Bishop Joe S. Vásquez from the Austin Diocese is expected to attend.
