St. Joseph Doctor Stranded By Storm In New York City

Some of those areas along the northeast coast have been under mandatory evacuation orders.

And in some cases people are just stranded.

That's the case with Dr. Mark Montgomery, the Chief Medical Officer for St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan, who is in New York City.

He has been with about 20 family and friends from Bryan-College Station attending his daughter's play in the city.

Monday night he told News 3 about the weather conditions there.

"Well there's water coming up Wall Street. It's probably 2 or 3 blocks maybe from where the Stock Exchange is, so it's about halfway down to the waterfront. We don't really know how far up it will come, but we're kind of on top of a little hill where we are, so we should be fine, and we're 3 stories up, so we feel safe."

Dr. Montgomery says power is out to his daughter's apartment building in New York City, where his family is staying.
