LIBERTY COUNTY - First responders in Liberty County responded to a second large wildfire this weekend.

Around 9:30 Sunday morning, the Plum Grove Fire Department responded to a large fire in the 16000 block of FM 1314 near a gun shop.

This fire was about a mile from the site of another fire that was extinguished Saturday. First responders say they do not believe the two were related, but say wind made it difficult in putting out the flames.

Fire departments from New Caney, Splendora, Cleveland, Crosby and Huffman all assisted in fighting the blaze. The Texas Forest Service was also on scene and the fire was brought under control around five this evening.
