Kyle Field has been the home of Texas A&M Football for more than 80 years. It's one of the largest football stadiums in the state of Texas, but it still isn't big enough to fit all the Aggie football fans.

“I think it could be updated, especially if you look at some of the other colleges,” said Angela Ford, a Texas A&M Student.

That's why Texas A&M is planning to renovate the historic stadium starting after the 2013 football season. Texas A&M University officials released two conceptual drawings for the Kyle Field renovation project to get an idea of how students feel about proposed new fees to help pay for it.

Similar conceptual designs showing the project from different angles have also surfaced on an Aggie Blog called “Good Bull Hunting”.

Most students agree that Kyle Field could use a makeover, the question is, who should pay for it?

The cities of Bryan and College Station, as well as Brazos County have pledged to contribute $36 million.
However, students could also help foot the estimated $400 million bill through new fees and higher student ticket prices.

“A lot of people don't go to football games, and it’s not fair to make them pay for it just so that the university can make a new stadium,” said Martina Garcia, a Texas A&M student.

“It’s just unfortunate, no one likes new fees for anything but it’s just something we have to deal with if we want to have a nice facility like that at A&M,” said Ford.

The conceptual design has not been approved yet by the Texas A&M Board of Regents. University officials say they hope to present the plan to regents at the May board meeting.
