What Could You Donate?
Hundreds of people dropped off school supplies for those in need Thursday to support the Junior League's Stuff the Bus program.
The Junior League of Bryan-College Station held its annual Stuff the Bus school supply donation drive with a main drop-off location atthe Brazos Center on Briarcrest Drive in Bryan. Supplies were also collected at satellite locations at HEBs in Bryan and College Station.
Donations of supplies or money were set to go to thousands of children in the area who need them as they head for classes for the 2013-2014 school year.
In 2012, Stuff the Bus allowed for 300,000 supplies to be purchased and distributed. Since 2000, 100,000 students have been helped by the project, according to JLBCS.
A total donation count was unavailable as of late Thursday night, but organizers say they hope to have one soon.
