Suspect Arrested in Nighttime Burglary in Washington County

According to Washington County Sheriff Otto Hanak, Chappell Hill resident Roy Melvin Jackson Jr., 44, has been arrested and charged with Burglary of a Building related to the nighttime burglary of a business located on U.S. Highway 290 West.

The burglary occurred on 07-09-2014 with the suspect causing significant damage to the building as well as the loss of property contained within.

An investigation conducted by Washington County Sheriff's Office CID Sergeant Mark Whidden resulted in the identification of the suspect and he was arrested on 07-15-2014 without incident. Jackson remains in the Washington County jail under a $25,000.00 bond.

Sheriff Hanak also announced the arrests of two juveniles suspects believed to have been involved in multiple burglaries that were reported on 07-11-2014 just off F.M. 50.

An investigation initiated by Deputy Jason Barnett resulted with him identifying and arresting the two juvenile suspects along with locating and seizing property taken during two of the burglaries.

Both juveniles were released to their parents by the authority of a Juvenile court judge.
