A Brenham man is back in police custody after leading officials on a chase from Washington County to Travis County.

Officials say 22 year old Jonathan Robert Love was being arrested on a parole violation around 1:00am Thursday morning when a female friend helped him escape.

20 year old Ashley Michelle Taylor allegedly helped him flee the scene by opening the back door of the patrol car. She was arrested.

Love fled the scene and sometime later jumped the fence of Premier Metal Buyers in Brenham before stealing an 18-wheeler.

He then started west on Highway 290 towards Austin.

Austin police say they were notified by officials in Manor, a small community between Brenham and Austin.

Love was arrested by Austin police and is being charged with theft of a motor vehicle and criminal mischief.
