PORT ALLEN, La. (AP) West Baton Rouge Parish sheriff's deputies say an Addis man accused of fatally shooting a 36-year-old Plaquemine man during an alleged drug deal was arrested Wednesday in Texas.
Col. Richie Johnson tells The Advocate (http://bit.ly/18nhRUE ) the U.S. Marshals Service arrested 19-year-old Roosevelt D. Jones in Garland, Texas, and booked him with principal to first-degree murder in the slaying of Leon Banks.
Johnson says Jones moved to Texas shortly after the April 24 shootout with Banks in the parking lot of a Walmart in Port Allen.
Johnson said the sheriff's office hopes to have Jones returned to West Baton Rouge Parish by next week to face prosecution.
