College Station police have identified the two suspects in a series of credit card abuse cases, and one has been taken into custody.

Christianah Nwadiogo Egwu, 20, was arrested by Williamson County deputies Sunday. Police have active warrants for Kendra Kenee Delley, 23, an Austin resident.

"We obviously deal with shoplifters, we've obviously dealt with potential break ins, but we've never had our staff be personal victims. So it was taking it to a whole new level for us," said Dawn Fedora, owner of Plato's Closet in College Station.

Between September 10 and last Wednesday (October 3), investigators believe Egwu and the accomplice would take the wallets of employees at retail stores while they were busy with customers. Those cards would then be used shortly after at other businesses.

The targeted retail stores include Plato's Closet, Pier 1 Imports, Closet Door, and Heartworks.

"They are probably getting more benefit from taking the credit cards and being able to purchase a great amount of merchandise rather than just what they happen to put in their purse or hide under their clothing," said Rhonda Seaton, College Station Police Department Public Information Officer.

Egwu is charged with three counts of credit card abuse.

If you have information related to these incidents, you're asked to contact College Station Police at (979) 764-3600.
