TIAS was established in 2010 by the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents.
TEXAS A&M- The Texas A&M Institute of Advanced Study inducted its second class at its annual Gala last night at the Memorial Student Center
Several hundred guests were on hand to welcome the new TIAS faculty fellows, who will serve in-residence for the next two to twelve months, collaborating with numerous Texas A&M faculty and students.
"In your wildest dreams who would you like to work with...TIAS is a mechanism for going and bringing that person here for a while and exposing our faculty and our students to some thinking about their discipline that's not in-house, it's really from afar," said Founding Director of TIAS Dr. John Junkins.
Faculty Fellows are annually selected through a process led by distinguished faculty at Texas A&M.
