A judge has ruled that a 15-year-old in a group of youths accused in the death of a man pushed into a moving Dallas Area Rapid Transit train will not be tried as an adult.
The ruling came Friday. The boy, one of four juveniles charged with capital murder in the case, was 14 at the time of the incident.
Officials say 19-year-old Octavius Lanier was standing on the train platform in November when the boys shoved him against the moving train. He was dragged after his leg became lodged between the train and platform.
Prosecutors are still seeking to try two of the other boys, 14 at the time of the crime, as adults. The fourth suspect was 12, making him too young to be tried as an adult.
