On Saturday, March 2, 2013, beginning at 8:00 am, Texas A&M University’s contractor will begin a temporary traffic switch at the intersection of Wellborn Road and Old Main. The left turn bays on Wellborn Road will be removed thereby prohibiting left turns onto Old Main from both northbound and southbound Wellborn Road. This temporary switch will increase the contractor’s work space to perform safe operations adjacent to the flow of traffic. Additionally, beginning March 9, 2013, Old Main at Wellborn Road will be completely closed to traffic.
While the temporary traffic switch is in place, motorists are asked to plan accordingly for the prohibited left turns at Old Main. The left turn bays and Old Main are scheduled to reopen March 17.
This traffic switch is part of the $25 million dollar FM 2154 Texas A&M Underpass Project contracted to McCarthy Building Companies, Inc.
