The Heisman hype for Johnny Manziel is building.
The freshman quarterback has been fun to watch during the Aggies first season in the SEC.
It's run, Johnny, run for the Heisman trophy.
Texas A&M fans are fired up and think he should be considered for the most prestigious award in college football.
He shatters defenses and has been likened to a video game character for his plays on the gridiron.
Texas A&M Quarterback Johnny Manziel is bringing the football program to new heights with a season to never forget.
"He's a winner," said Don Elder, an Aggie Football Fan.
Don Elder and his wife had finished checking in to the Best Western Atrea in Bryan for Saturday's game.
The Katy Mayor graduated from Sam Houston, but is an Aggie Fan too.
"I want to see us go to a BCS Bowl and we have the opportunity to do that and Sam Houston's got a great team this year, I watched them last year in the National Championship, so I'm proud of both of them," he added.
Aggie Athletics has launched a new website promoting Johnny Football for Heisman.
Mike and Carol Brooks of Georgetown were setting up their RV and tailgates at A&M and love the program's new-found prominence.
"I do a lot of traveling in my job, east coast to west coast people are talking about A&M. It's just fantastic what's happened here," said Mike Brooks.
He says if Johnny Manziel doesn't get the Heisman win this year, just wait.
"I think next year for sure, but yeah I'm aware of that website. I saw that today, but actually the mystique of A&M not pushing him and him not being able to talk in the press has added to his mystique and the momentum building around him and his popularity as well," Brooks added.
"He's a very outstanding athlete. Very talented," said Don Elder.
Fun to watch with Johnny Football making his mark in A&M history.
Kickoff at Kyle Field is set for 2:30 Saturday afternoon against Sam Houston State.
It's on Fox Sports Southwest Pay Per View.
