Texas Hall Of Fame Being Demolished For New Walmart Supercenter

A legendary place for live country music in Bryan is now gone for good.

Demolition crews have reduced the Texas Hall Of Fame dance hall to rubble in preparation of a Walmart Supercenter expected to open in late 2013 or early 2014 near Villa Maria Road and F-M 2818 in Bryan.

The Hall of Fame closed at the end of 2011 following the death of its owner Johnny Lyon, who died of lung cancer in November 2010.

For more than 30 years it was the place to see some of the best Texas Country Music including Roger Creager, Pat Green, and Kevin Fowler, among many others.
