LAKE BRYAN- Thousands will hit the water this July 4th weekend to enjoy fun, food and fireworks. Game Wardens say it's all about having a good time while being safe. They'll be watching boaters the same way officers on the roadways lookout for drivers especially when it comes to speeding and boating while intoxicated.
It's illegal operate a watercraft if you are over the legal limit of .08 and you can be taken to jail if you're caught drunk on the water. As for speed, there are no set limits on the water, but citations will be issued for excessive speed or reckless operation. Game wardens also encourage everyone including children to wear life jackets.
