A North Zulch man is in serious condition after DPS troopers say the three-wheeler he was driving collided with a SUV carrying three people in Grimes County.
The crash happened Saturday afternoon just before 3:00pm on Highway 90 near the intersection of County Road 115, north of Bedias.
Troopers say Christopher Cooper, 66, of North Zulch was attempting to turn off of northbound Highway 90 onto the country road, but turned his Harley-Davidson three-wheeler into the path of a southbound SUV.
DPS says Cooper was thrown about 30 feet from his three-wheeler.
He was flown by helicopter to St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan.
DPS says despite his serious injuries, the helmet Cooper was wearing saved him from suffering other injuries.
The 3 people traveling in the SUV were not seriously injured.
