Traffic Switched on FM 2818/FM 1179 Grade Separation Project

Today, TxDOT’s contractor switched traffic on FM 2818 and FM 1179 into Phase 2 of the Construction project. During this phase, traffic on northbound FM 2818 will be moved to the newly constructed frontage road. Southbound traffic will also be shifted over from the existing southbound lanes.

Motorists should be aware that northbound and southbound traffic will now be split and that the configuration at the intersection has changed. Motorists on FM 1179 will now go thru 2 signals instead of 1 since traffic on FM 2818 is now split.

Overall the project is still on schedule to finish in the Spring of 2014. This is $14 million dollar grade separation project contracted to Knife River Corporation.
