BRYAN - Multiple railroad crossings were closed for about an hour and a half Monday after a train hit a pickup truck near downtown Bryan.
The collision happened around 4:15 p.m. at the crossing on W. Dodge Street, between Finfeather Road and S. College Avenue.
According to Bryan Police, a pickup truck traveling west on Dodge stopped behind other vehicles at the tracks when the train started its approach. The railroad crossing arms came down on the cab of the truck. The driver made a U-turn on the tracks and stopped. The train then clipped the bed of the truck.
The driver of the truck was transported to St. Joseph Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Bryan Police initially said the train could remain stopped on the tracks for several hours while Union Pacific conducts their investigation. But the train was gone in less than 90 minutes.
