For our second Trips on a Tank, we head to Washington on the Brazos, otherwise known as the Birthplace of Texas.
You'll get a chance to see Independence Hall, a re-creation of the original building on the original site where the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution was signed, officially forming the Republic of Texas.
You'll also get to check out Barrington Living History Farm, which provides a slice of life look at the daily life of the last President of the Republic of Texas, Dr. Anson Jones.
Everything is authentic... the people working on the farm do everything as the Jones family would've done it back in the 1850s - that means planting crops, tending to animals, butchering hogs, washing clothes in a bucket, and living without electricity.
Barrington Living History Farm admission:
$5 per adult; $3 per child (7 and up)
or $15.00 per family (2 adults and up to 5 children 7 and up)
Admission to all 3 venues - Barrington, Museum and Independence Hall:
$9 per adult, $6 per child (7 and up)
or $27 per family (2 adults and up to 5 children 7 and up).
