Twin City Mission in Bryan is celebrating a major milestone this year.
The non-profit formed in 1963 to meet the needs of the homeless in our community.
Fifty years later its focus has evolved to address homelessness, housing, domestic violence and at risk youth.
Thousands of people have been impacted by the organization's work and the mission credits the community for reaching its 50th birthday.
"I like to tell people that while Twin City Mission is the agency people point too, all we are is a reflection of our community," Ron Crozier with Twin City Mission said. "We've been able to do what we can do for 50 years here because that's what a community wants us to do. We're just a neighbor here, that's all we are."
Twin City Mission will celebrate its 50th Wednesday at a sold out luncheon.
Texas A&M head football coach Kevin Sumlin will be the guest speaker.
We'll be there and have a recap of Sumlin's speech and highlights of the event Wednesday on News Three.
