Twin-engine Plane Crash Lands Along Texas Highway

PLEASANTON, Texas (AP) - Six people aboard a twin-engine airplane have suffered minor injuries in a crash along a highway as the pilot tried to reach a South Texas airport.

The Federal Aviation Administration says the Cessna 414 crashed Monday night while trying to land at Pleasanton Municipal Airport.

FAA spokesman Lynn Lunsford said Tuesday that investigators are trying to determine what caused the crash of the charter flight from Addison Airport near Dallas.

He says the plane bound for Pleasanton, 30 miles south of San Antonio, crashed when the pilot attempted to land, failed and then went around to try again.

The plane ended up on its belly in some grass along Farm-to-Market Road 3350 near the runway
