Two Killed in West Texas Mobile Home Fire

Two people have died in an early morning mobile home fire in West Texas.

The Lubbock County Sheriff's Office tells Lubbock station KCBD (http://bit.ly/YcpLZD) that it's believed a 58-year-old woman and her 4-year-old child died in the fire.

Lt. Bryan Taylor tells the station that investigators are waiting for the county medical examiner's office to identify the victims.

Firefighters responded to the Fay Ben Mobile Home Park just south of Shallowater about 3 a.m. Wednesday. They found the mobile home and a nearby vehicle engulfed in flames.

Shallowater is about 12 miles northwest of Lubbock.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
