A new student housing development on the corner of Texas Avenue and University Drive in College Station is starting to take shape. Northpoint Crossing sits on the site of the old Plaza Hotel and is a few months away from welcoming its first residents.
This new upscale, urban and unique style of living is becoming a popular choice for student living. The first phase is nearly complete with the second phase beginning in a few weeks.
Apartment manager Nicole Malick says, "We have a 920 bed property with a two-story club house that is open 24 hours a day. We have our gym which is two stories. We have study pods where you can actually write on the walls, and a study center that has macs and pc's. We also have a kitchenette in the clubhouse where you can hang out with your friends cook some food and watch some TV."
Along with the hotel-style amenities, the 53,000 square foot property will offer shopping and dining options in the same building. Northpoint's website shows Minuti Coffee and Toasties Sub Shop are the two restaurants that have signed on so far.
All the units are fully furnished with living and bedroom furniture.
Northpoint Crossing will open August 20th.
