Noel and "Mac" were the two victims found in Noel's home in the 2000 block of Vinewood. Noel worked at the 12th Man Foundation in the ticket office, and worked closely with Aggie Athletics, notably the women's basketball team.
"Mac" Devin worked with the A&M College of Veterinary Medicine.
Both were Texas A&M graduates.
The following is a press release from the 12th Man Foundation:
The Aggie family collectively mourns the deaths of Noel Devin ’04 and Thomas Mac Devin ’89, who left this world much too soon, but also left behind endearing legacies that embody the Texas A&M core values that they both cherished. The father and daughter died on April 6, 2014.
Noel was a 2004 graduate of Texas A&M, where she earned a BA in history. She began her career with the 12th Man Foundation in 2006, accepting a job in the ticket office.
"Noel was a force in our office who managed to do more in a few hours than many people can manage in a day," said Carole Dollins, Senior Vice President of Ticketing. "Her creative brilliance and selfless commitment to serving our donors, Texas A&M students and our student-athletes was seen each and every day. She loved her online persona as ‘Aggie Tickets,’ and her passion for A&M athletics and meeting the customer service needs of our fans was a wonder to behold. Her efforts will serve as a model for our future endeavors. We will find ways to get her job done in the future, but she is absolutely irreplaceable. I am so much better for having known her and so proud to say that she was my friend.
"The death of Noel’s father, Mac, doubles this tragedy," Dollins added. "He was a very special man who loved his family more than anything. Our hearts go out to their remaining family members along with their countless friends now dealing with this loss."
Noel enriched the lives of countless individuals and groups throughout her career at the 12th Man Foundation, including colleagues, student-workers, student-athletes, coaches, donors and customers. "Noel was family, and her love for Texas A&M and all of her teams made her beloved to our players, parents, coaches and fans that she loved to work with," said Gary Blair, head women’s basketball coach. "Noel embodied service and loyalty like all Aggies, but she took it to another level. Thank you Noel for making us each better."
A candlelight vigil has been planned to remember Noel and Mac on Saturday, April 12 at 8 p.m. in the Zone Plaza, which is located between the Memorial Student Center and Kyle Field on the campus of Texas A&M University. Candles for the vigil will be provided and distributed by the Texas A&M Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). The 12th Man Foundation offices will be open to all those who attend the vigil afterward for fellowship and refreshments.
