The Household Hazardous Waste Collection event scheduled for April 27 needs volunteers to help the Brazos Valley Sold Waste Management Agency with traffic control, litter collection and other duties.
Four 2½-hour shifts are available:
• 6:30 - 9 a.m.
• 8:30 - 11 a.m.
• 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
• 12:30 - 2 p.m.
Volunteers must be at least 17 years old, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian, and will receive a shirt, meal and refreshments. Sign up online at cstx.gov/recycle, by email at RecycleRequests@cstx.gov, or call 979.764.6228. The deadline is April 19.
The event will be from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Old University Services Building at 3380 University Dr. E. Examples of accepted materials include paint, medications, computers, gasoline, pesticides, herbicides, motor oil, antifreeze, batteries, compact fluorescent light bulbs and household cleaning agents.
