Waco Attorney Seeks to Represent Area Texas House District

Posted: Mon 5:39 PM, Oct 29, 2012

A pair of first-time candidates are seeking to represent Texans in five counties in a newly-drawn district for the State House.

District 12 encompasses rural portions of Brazos and McLennan Counties, and in between them, includes Robertson, Falls and Limestone Counties.

Robert Stem was unopposed in the Democratic primaries. He faces Republican Kyle Kacal, a Brazos County rancher who won a runoff in his party's primary.

Stem appeared on First News at Four Monday. Kacal is scheduled to appear Wednesday.

Stem is an attorney out of Waco who is a native of Falls County. He's also a rancher on his family property. Stem graduated from Baylor and the Thomas M. Cooley Law School. He's served on numerous boards, including for the United Way in Waco.
